A work symbolizing creative power, our openness to the world and the desire to express ourselves.

The legs were made from a V-shaped willow branch that was clearly reaching for the sun and was gathered from my home by the river. This sculpture has had several lives, at least two so far. I revisited it, adding its head, for my solo exhibition "Beyond the Place" at the Seigneurie Gallery in the Châteauguay Cultural Centre (November 2022).

For me, the mushroom is the vital link between all elements of nature. It is also the symbol of the cycle of creation and of a free spirit.
